Sub-Accounts

We're often asked "Can I Create Sub-Accounts for My Clients?"...
Project.co  doesn’t currently offer a built-in way to create “sub-accounts” where your main account manages multiple client accounts under it. However, there is a simple workaround that gives you the ability to set up and manage a client’s account when needed.

How to Set Up an Account on Behalf of Your Client

If you’d like to create a separate  Project.co  account for a client - and still have access to manage it - you can do this by creating the account for them and then inviting yourself as an admin.

Here’s how:

Log out of your current  Project.co  account.
Create a new account using your client’s email address here: https://v3.project.co/register
Important: Make sure you have your client’s permission before creating an account on their behalf.
Once the account is created, you’ll be automatically logged in as your client.
Go to Users and invite yourself to the account, assigning your user the Team-Admin role.
Log out of the client’s account.
Check your email and click the Join link you received. This logs you into the new client account as an admin.

What This Achieves

  • Your client gets their own standalone  Project.co  account.
  • You’re added as a Team-Admin, so you can configure the account, set things up for them, and manage it as needed.
  • All permissions and branding stay cleanly separated between your client’s space and your own.
  • Now you have been invited to their account with your email you can switch accounts using the account switcher from the logo at the top of the sidebar. This makes it quick and easy to switch between any of your own and your client accounts.
This workaround is the best way to manage client accounts.
