Create a project template

This page explains how to create project templates within your account.
Project templates are pre-configured project structures that allow you to quickly start new projects with predefined tasks, file folders, and notes.
Using templates saves time and ensures consistency across similar projects.

How to Create a New Project Template

Click the Template Creation Button: To begin creating a new project template, click the "New Project Template" button. You can get to this by clicking on the Projects/Templates button on the All projects page. Then click on "New Project Template". This action opens a dedicated window for template creation.
Define Your Template: In the new window, provide a clear and descriptive name for your template in the designated field. You can also set other initial properties for the template, such as its privacy settings or a starting date, if those options are presented.
Finalize Template Creation: After entering all the necessary details, click the "Create Project Template" button within the window. The system creates your new project template, and you are directed to its home page. From there, you can further customize the template by adding specific tasks, files, and notes.

How to Convert an Existing Project to a Template

Select the Project for Conversion: Navigate to the specific project you intend to convert into a template.
Initiate the Conversion: Within the project home page, locate and click the "Convert to Template" icon at the bottom of the right hand sidebar. Clicking this action initiates the conversion process.
Confirmation and Access: Upon clicking the "Convert to Template" icon, the system creates a new template based on your selected project. A confirmation message appears, stating that the project has been successfully converted to a template and that all associated assets, such as tasks, file folders, and notes, will be populated shortly. You are then automatically directed to the home page of your newly created template.
