The Embed Code tool let you embed other tools (when they provide you with an embed code to use) into your projects.
This means you can embed other websites, apps & 3rd party tools into your projects so you, your team and your clients can access them from one place.
Embed code limitations - At the moment we don't support embed codes that use <script> tags. We do plan to support this in the future but at the moment it's not something we support. Some tools will offer different types of codes so if you have the option to choose, please use a code without a <script> tag.
To get started, go to the project you want to embed something into and click the "+ Add Tools" button:
Add a caption...
Then from the tools popup choose the "Embed Code" tool:
Add a caption...
When you do this, you'll see a new popup that asks for some information to create the embed:
Add a caption...
Complete this as follows:
Image - This is an image or emoji that will be used in the tool card.
Name - This is a name for the embed. Use something descriptive so other people who have access to the project know what it is.
Code - This is the code you have been provided by the other tool so you can embed their tool in another site. Note: We don't currently support embed codes that use <script> tags. When you add a code you'll see a "Show Preview" button appears. This is so that you can check that the embed is working before saving the embed.
Description - This description is used in the tool card. It's a short bit of supporting text to help people understand what the embed is.
When you save, the embed will show as a tool card on your project, for example:
Add a caption...
And then, when you click on the tool card the embed will open up and fill the content part of your account, for example:
Add a caption...
This means people can access and collaborate on website, apps, and 3rd party tools without leaving your Project.co account. So people can view things they would normally have to browse to another website for without leaving your account. So they can switch back to the project and chat, upload files and manage tasks.
Embed issues
If the embed code you have been provided by the 3rd party website or tool uses <script> tags then it will be rejected. If this is the case then you may not be able to embed this tool type within your account. You could see if they have a different embed code that doesn't use <script> tags but if they don't you'll need to use the Link tool instead of the embed tool.
Using with the Resources tool
The resources tool is a list of all the 3rd party embeds, embed URLs, embed codes, links and references you have added to a project. The resources tool lists all these items so you can add many of them without them cluttering up your project dashboard. For more information see Resources
