Mentioning users allows you to directly notify individuals about specific comments or updates, ensuring they see important information.
When you mention a user, they receive an instant notification, and an email is sent to them with the details of the mention.
You can mention users in discussion comments and replies.

: In the rich text editor where you are composing your comment or reply, type the @
symbol.
: As you type, a menu will appear displaying a list of users. Continue typing the user's name to filter the list.
: From the suggestion menu, click on the name of the user you wish to mention.
: The selected user's name will be inserted into your comment or reply. The system automatically links this mention to the user's profile.
: Once you have finished composing your message, send your comment or reply as usual.
When you are mentioned by another user:
- : You will receive an in-app notification. These notifications appear in your Notifications Sidebar, typically categorized under "Invites & Updates" or "Comments."
- : An email notification will be sent to your registered email address. This email will include:
- The name of the user who mentioned you.
- The comment text containing the mention.
- The project name where the mention occurred.
- Direct links to the relevant discussion and your notification settings page.
You can manage your notifications, including those from @mentions, through the Notifications Sidebar and your notification preferences:
- : This sidebar provides a centralized view of all your notifications. You can:
- Toggle between "Invites & Updates" and "Comments" views to see different categories of notifications.
- Mark individual notifications as read.
- View the detailed page related to a notification (e.g., the project home, task list, or discussion thread).
- Clear all notifications within a specific category.
- : You can access your notification preferences page to customize how you receive notifications. To do this, click on the "preferences/notifications" link, typically found in your user settings or profile.
