The Link tool lets you link to any other URL from your projects.
The link tool is great for linking to every asset you, your team and your clients might need for each project. This means everything you need for each project can be accessed and found within the project so everyone has a single source of truth.
To get started, go to the project you want to add the link tool to and click the "+ Add Tools" button:
Add a caption...
Then from the tools popup choose the "Link" tool:
Add a caption...
When you do this, you'll see a new popup that asks for some information to create the link:
Add a caption...
Complete this as follows:
Image - This is an image or emoji that will be used in the tool card.
Name - This is a name for the link. Use something descriptive so other people who have access to the project know what it is.
URL - This is the URL you want to link to.
Description - This description is used in the tool card. It's a short bit of supporting text to help people understand what the link is.
When you save, the link will show as a tool card on your project, for example:
Add a caption...
And then, when you click on the tool card the link will open up in a new browser tab. This means that people can look at the other website in a new browser tab but your Project.co account will remain in the other browser tab so they can get back to it easily.
Using the link tool means people can access any other website or URL location from the project. So they can then switch back to the project and chat, upload files and manage tasks.
Using with the Resources tool
The resources tool is a list of all the 3rd party embeds, embed URLs, embed codes, links and references you have added to a project. The resources tool lists all these items so you can add many of them without them cluttering up your project dashboard. For more information see Resources
