You can create new tasks in your account from several different locations, depending on your current view and how you prefer to work. Each method is designed to be intuitive and integrate seamlessly with your workflow.
Here's how to create a new task in different areas of the application:
This method is ideal for quickly adding tasks to a general list without immediately assigning them to a specific section.
- Navigate to a task list page. At the top or bottom of the task list, you will find an input field labeled "Add new task".
- Click into this input field and type the name of the task you want to create.
- Press the
Enter
key on your keyboard or click the "Add New Task" button next to the input field. The task will be added to your list, and the input field will clear, ready for your next task.
When working with a Kanban board, you can add tasks directly into specific columns, which often represent different stages or categories.
- On your Kanban board, look for an input field, typically labeled "New Task" or "Add a task", located within a specific column (e.g., "To Do", "In Progress").
- Click into this input field within the desired column and type the name of your new task.
- Press the
Enter
key on your keyboard or click the "Add New Task" button associated with that column. The task will be created and placed directly into that column.
This method allows you to create tasks with specific start and end dates directly from your calendar view.
- Go to your calendar view. Click on a specific date or drag your cursor across a time slot to define the duration for your new task.
- A prompt or a small form will appear. Enter the name of your task in the designated field. The start and end dates will typically be pre-filled based on your calendar selection, but you can adjust them if needed.
- Click the "Create Task" or "Save" button within the prompt. The new task will appear on your calendar with the specified dates.
The global all tasks view has a "New Task" button at the top left of the page. Click this to open a form with more options.
- On various task views (e.g., list view, project overview), you will find a prominent "New Task" button.
- Click the "New Task" button. This action will typically open a dedicated task creation form or a pop-up window.
- In the form or pop-up, enter the task name and any other relevant details such as project, assigned people, dates, or privacy settings.
- Click the "Create Task" or "Save" button within the form. The new task will be added to your project.
