Assigning Tasks to people

When you assign tasks to people in your account, several key actions occur within the system, and there are clear benefits for doing so:
    Task Record Update: The task's internal record is immediately updated to include the selected individuals in its "People-Assigned" list. This links the task directly to the assigned users.
    Notifications are Sent: A notification is automatically generated and sent to each person who has been newly assigned to the task. This ensures that they are promptly informed about their new responsibility.

Why Assign Tasks to People

Assigning tasks to people is a fundamental practice in for several important reasons:
  • Clear Ownership and Accountability: Assigning a task clearly defines who is responsible for its completion. This eliminates confusion and ensures that every task has a designated owner, fostering accountability within the team.

How to Assign Tasks to People

Follow these steps to assign a task to one or more people:
    Navigate to the Task:
  • First, go to the specific project that contains the task you intend to assign.
  • Locate the task within the project's task list or chosen task view (e.g., List, Kanban, or Calendar view).
    Open the Assignment Panel:
  • On the task, find and click the "Assigned People" button or icon. This action will open a dedicated panel or popup specifically designed for managing task assignments.
    Select Individuals to Assign:
  • Within the assignment panel, you will see a list of available team members and clients.
  • Select the individuals you want to assign to the task. You can select a single person or multiple people, depending on who needs to be responsible for or involved with the task.
    Confirm the Assignment:
  • After you have selected all the desired individuals, click the "Assign" or "Save" button within the assignment panel.
  • A confirmation message will appear, indicating that the person or people have been successfully assigned to the task.
    Verify Assignment:
  • The names or profile pictures of the newly assigned individuals will now appear associated with the task. The assigned individuals will also receive a notification informing them that they have been assigned to the task.
