This page explains how to add subtasks to your existing tasks.
Subtasks allow you to break down larger tasks into smaller, more manageable components, helping you organize your work more effectively and track progress with greater detail.
By following these steps, you will be able to establish a clear hierarchy for your project tasks.
To assign a parent task and make a task a subtask, follow these steps:
Navigate to the task you want to designate as a subtask. Click on this task to open its detailed view, which typically appears as a right-side panel.
Within the detailed view of the task, scroll down to the "Task Details" section. Look for a field labeled "Parent task". This field will have a dropdown menu next to it.
Click on the dropdown menu next to the "Parent task" label. A list of available tasks will appear. These are tasks that can serve as parent tasks.
From the list, select the task you want to be the parent of your current task.
After selecting the parent task, ensure your changes are saved. This typically happens automatically or by clicking a "Save" button if one is present.
Once these steps are completed, the task you modified will now be a subtask of the task you selected as its parent. You can verify this by navigating to the parent task and checking its "Sub-Tasks" tab.
In the list view, if a task already has a sub task then you can drag another task onto the sub task to make it another subtask of the same task.
